No plumbing permit is issued in Brushy Creek MUD unless a plumber registered with the District applies for it. This $10,000 bond is part of getting and staying registered, and it costs a premium instead of a $10,000 cash deposit with the District.
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District requires a $10,000 District Plumbing Contractor surety bond from plumbers who register with the District to pull plumbing permits. Under the District's rules, permit applications must be submitted by a registered plumber with current information on file, the plumber must schedule and pass District inspections, and any fees left at the end of the job are assigned to the plumber. The District is the obligee.

Brushy Creek MUD reviews and inspects plumbing work connected to its water and wastewater system. Its Notice to Plumbers states that prior to performing any plumbing work, all applicable permit applications must be submitted by a registered plumber with current information on file with the District. A homeowner's general contractor cannot pull the permit for you.
The Notice to Plumbers puts three duties on the plumber. The District permit must be posted in a visible place at the site. The plumber is responsible for scheduling every required inspection and passing it. All fees remaining at the end of the job are assigned to the plumber. The $10,000 bond in favor of the District backs those obligations. If the District has to claim on it, the surety pays up to $10,000 and the plumber repays the surety.
Use the District's Plumbing Permit Registration Form and contact BCMUD Public Works at 512-255-7871 extension 410 or pwadmin@bcmud.org for the current bond form and obligee wording. Work that needs access through District property also requires a Permit Application for Trail and Easement Access. District staff cannot perform work on private property.
