The $2,500 plumbing bond is a small instrument with one job: getting your registration on file with Springfield Township so your permit applications are accepted. Pennsylvania has more than one Springfield Township, so start by matching the obligee to the township where the work is.
Springfield Township requires plumbers to be registered with the township before they can pull plumbing permits, and the plumbing bond for that registration is $2,500, written in favor of the township. In Springfield Township, Montgomery County, master and journeyman plumbers re-register every year under Ordinance #459, Section 3, and permit applications must come from a licensed master or journeyman plumber registered with the township. Confirm the bond form and filing steps with the township's code enforcement office before the bond is issued.
