North Randall registrations run on the calendar year and expire every December 31, no matter when you registered. The $5,000 license and permit bond is one of seven items in the packet, and having it issued in the exact name on your application is the quickest way to get registered and pulling permits in the Village.
The Village of North Randall in Cuyahoga County requires contractors to register with its Building Department before working in the Village, and the registration packet calls for a $5,000 License/Permit Bond. The Village accepts insurance company bond forms. Registration costs $50, runs from the date of registration through December 31 of the same year, and must be renewed annually.

The Village of North Randall Building Department publishes a contractor registration instruction sheet and application. Every contractor submits the same packet:
1. A completed Contractor Registration Application 2. A completed Withholding and Business Registration form for the Village municipal income tax 3. A certificate of insurance naming The Village of North Randall as additional insured 4. A $5,000 License/Permit Bond 5. A copy of your workers' compensation certificate 6. A copy of your State of Ohio license or certification 7. The $50 registration fee
The instructions state that a copy of a State of Ohio license or certification is required of all contractors, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, asbestos and lead abatement. Trades licensed by the state should have that license number ready before applying. The $5,000 bond is still required on top of the state credential.
A registration is valid from January 1, or any later date in the year you register, through December 31 of that same year. Contractors must re-register annually, which means a new bond or a continuation certificate each year so the bond stays in force for the full registration period.
The bond names the Village of North Randall as obligee and gives the Village a source of recovery if a registered contractor fails to comply with Village requirements on work performed there. The Village accepts the surety company's own bond form, so no Village specific form is needed. Confirm current filing steps with the Building Department before the bond is issued.
The surety prices the bond from the $5,000 amount and the personal credit of the owner. At this bond size most applicants are approved on credit alone without financial statements.
